Today my dove chocolate wrapper told me to "treat every day like a Sunday."
I won't go into details about how a Sunday goes for a (visiting) assistant professor. I don't want to deter any of you from this career.
(I'm semi-joking. It's not that bad. Just a lot of prep, a lot of grading, and very, very little sleep. Oh, and N.A. many, many miles away.)
But still. The dove chocolate mocked me. Chocolate mocked me.
Has your chocolate mocked you lately?

No chocolate problems, but my other vice: salt and vinegar potato chips.
My cat snatched one out of my hand as it was traveling to my mouth. It dropped to the floor, he takes a huge bite and then meows at me to say "hey, there is something wrong with this". He then takes 4 more bites.
I had to go into another room to eat them, he kept wanting more.
I knew there was a reason I don't like chocolate!
Treat everyday like Sunday? Actually... Sunday does have a one-up on the rest of the week in that if I'm I'm going to spend 10 hours in lab, at least I get to be there by myself, so I don't have to deal with the incompetency of others and I get all the equipment to myself. So, maybe I do want to pretend that everyday is Sunday... not that it is RELAXING or anything... just marginally less miserable in the lab.
I'm looking forward to the day when Sunday is again like a Sunday "should be".... Sleeping late, brunch, bad television, and comfort-food dinner.... rather than, well... you know.
I hope you showed that insolent chocolate by promptly eating it and all its kin!
Chocolate should not, ever speak. It should just sit there, looking yummy, until it is eaten. I bet you won, like Mad Hatter said.
I believe Mad Hatter has the perfect response.. and I have been waging this war for the last two days!!
Oh, Geeka! I love-love-love salt and vinegar chips. YUM!
EtBr, How can you not like chocolate? Say it isn't so. But yes, alone time in the lab is "marginally less miserable."
Doc: If that happens before I get tenure, I will profusely thank the chemistry gods.
You will be happy to know, Mad Hatter, that I retaliated by prompted eating two more!
Silver Fox and Science Bear-- I wooooon!
