It's a not-so-hidden secret that LargeU has problems with bias against women (both faculty and students). While I myself have never experienced discrimination here at LargeU, some of the stories I have heard are downright shocking (and mostly non-bloggable, and least not until May).
So what to do when the worst offender is a woman? Especially a woman that was recruited to LargeU by herself (as opposed to a "package-deal" with a more famous husband)?
