A question for the masses: toeing a line?

I've seen a lot of gross behavior on planes. Tobacco spitting. Nail clipping. Nose picking. Questionable under-the-blanket motions. Large..um.... "presents" in the toilet.

But lately I've observed some (in my opinion) even more repulsive behavior: bare feet. Bare, naked feet being wiggled under seats, stretched out into the aisles, and, most horrific of all, rested on the arm seat.

Seriously. Is it possible that there is more disgusting plane behavior than bare feet on display?

Really? Bare feet are disgusting? I could totally see myself doing that too!

I have done bare feet in the plane before, never on an arm rest, but yea are bare feet more gross than a present in the toilet?

srsly? depends on the shoes. if they're sandals, bare feet should be fine. if the shoes involve socks, there's much more potential for horrible stinky feet.
still not as bad as bathroom presents...

Ever since deregulation, airline travel has become more and more like bus travel back in the day.

Once people stopped wearing ties and dresses to football games, it was all downhill from there.

As long as they are not stinky, I don't see the problem. I can imagine a lot of worse things to have to put up with. Pretty much any interaction involving the airplane restrooms for one.

Bare feet gross me out. But that's just my own personal thing. However, I think the bare feet on planes is just an outgrowth from the bare feet during security check requirement.

I don't like bare feet either, especially my own. They're so ugly! But I do think the bathroom "presents" are worse.

Hmmm... I still think bare, wriggling toes are worse than a leftover surprise in the bathroom.

You can't flush your fellow passengers' feet, after all.

Bare, not smelly feet under the seat ahead of you - not a problem. Walking around barefoot, especially after going to the restroom (you guessed it - barefoot!) - totally gross.

You have issues. Is your problem with bare feet only, or are stocking feet also gross?

I'd rather see bare feet than some of the other things you mentioned. I mean, I really hate poo.

I'm afraid that if it's a long-haul flight, I always take off my shoes -- which means having bare feet if those shoes are sandals. I'm surprised this is considered offensive! Bummer.

On our return flight a kids bare foot hit me in the face! They were putting their foot up by the window and just kept sliding it forward. Worse than feet though, is when there is a child behind you and they constantly kick your seat!
