Don't get me wrong: I think I would go certifiably insane without Endnote. I can't imagine having to keep track of my 100-and-growing thesis references. Plus, the handy webofscience searching feature within Endnote means I can automatically import >95% of my citations.
But perhaps Endnote is turning against me.
I don't know why; I've been really good to E. I only open him when I need him. I give him lots of attention. I sing his praises to the younger students.
I can understand the occasional "generic: input file missing" error or even the random crashings. We all get into a bad mood from time to time, and I wouldn't expect Endnote to be any different.
But the latest message? "This Endnote Library may be corrupt" followed by a crash? Endnote, that is just uncalled for. I'm barely holding on as it is, so a complete failure of my Endnote library may cause complete brain meltdown.
(It turns out my Library was fine....but I hope this is not a sign of bad things to come!!
